Counseling:
According to the ACA (American Counseling Association), counseling is described as, “a collaborative effort between the counselor and client. Professional counselors help clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health.” What that means is we can help you cope with and address anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, etc. Counseling will be individualized through a holistic and progressive model and will work to service you as best as possible.
Life Coaching: A specific and goal-oriented collaboration between a coach and the individual to improve a specific area or aspect of one’s life. Coaching primarily takes on a solutions-based approach and focuses less on psychological experiences, and more so on how to optimize different areas of functioning. Contact Bloom for a free quote!
The types of coaching offered are, but not limited to:
-General Coaching
General coaching may consist of a variety of things you may be seeking help with, and typically has a clearly defined goal. You then create a specific plan with your coach to best achieve this goal in a short amount of time. Here are a few examples:
· Improve social skills
· Change bad habits
· Improve self confidence

-Career Coaching
Career coaching focuses on assisting individuals at all phases of their life to find potential matches with an occupation of their choosing through the usage of different inventories, questions, and problem-solving. This may include young people exploring interests and possibilities, or more seasoned adults looking to shift where they spend their time and energy through the vein of work.
How are they similar, how are they different? Coaching focuses primarily on a few specific goals, where the coach and individual work together to best achieve those goals in a future-oriented way. Coaching relationships in general are less formal and structured, with less emphasis on psychological processes, but instead a focus on improvement toward a particular goal. Counseling tends to have a focus on emotions and identifying the origins and systems behind those emotions through a therapeutic approach. Counseling also typically dives a little “deeper” into the psyche, and naturally progress is slower.
Coaching will require a one-time fee, whereas counseling is paid per session.
